I guess I am n a SHAPE mode lately. .. It is either all stars or all circles-hehe. Here is another page of my little nephew Jaydyn James and my daugher Kandis.. For some reason my scanning program was going nuttos trying to scan this-i think all the circles was throwing it off so I just took a picture of it with my cell phone, which does not do it justice at all.. Lots and lots of layering on this page. I made a circle for the green and brown polka paper-and then half a circle for the white and polka dot paper next laying on that.. Layers some paper with some designs on the egdes that I cut out.. I sure need some edge punches-hehe.. THen just cut out circles for the bottoms.. All this paper was from 1 single pad which I do NOT have the name of-me and my friend halfed it up and shared it.. I did my journaling on the green strips. My brand is stickers and my NEW is cricut letters. Then my little baby is a jolee emblessishment.. I put it all on brown paper and then trimmed a inch off the brown paper and put it on white.. Super sweet page of my super sweet sweeties!!!

Simple page after I cut out the pink page.. I like that there isnt too much on this.. This is my little Nik Nik who is not so little enough anymore... Big enough to get married.. She looked so beautiful in her wedding dress. The lite pink dress she wore at her reception-it was amazing. I pulled out my decorative scissors to make the design around my little circle. I had not used those in so long. I love the white flowers on the white paper.. Simple but elegant page!!

Kandis was having a Veteran's Day program at school today.. SO she wore some of her Daddy's Marine clothes from back in the day.. He was in the Marine's from 1989-1996. I thought she looked pretty cute!!

Last night-Roger and Kandis played dress up in some of Roger's Marine Uniforms.. I bet not many Marine's can still wear their blues after being out of the military for 15 years.. My guy had it going on.. This picture is so sweet!!

My Marine celebrated his birthday today.. along with all his other brothers. He is getting pretty old but he looks great to be over 200 years old-hehe.. They celebrate 236 years today.. November 10 is a very special day to my man.. He was in the Marine Corps for 7 years before I meet him.. BUT let me say it is a thing that will be a part of him for the rest of his life!! Even though I was never a MARINE wife - I feel like I am a little..
This top page is part of a scrapbook page I did for Roger years and years and years ago when I 1st started scrapbooking.. I would never ever share the page-haha.. It is so bad.. I made Roger a whole book about his Marine Corp days with his friends.. Oh how I need to go back and redo the whole book now.. If only we all used digital cameras back then and I could get those pictures back I used.. shew!!!!

I am so proud of who Roger was and is still .. Him and my daughter did some modeling for me-kinda played dress up in his military uniforms.. I will post some of them tomorrow.. I can feel some pages coming on soon-hehe..

Another volleyball page of my girl!! I wanted to do a page of her without the "school colors" like I usually do.. i love all the pastels on this.. I am loving all the little flag banners lately. I think I could put them on every page I do-ha!! I had got a great steal on a flag punch at Big Lots and I have so misplaced it my scrapbooking room somewhere. I guess that means it's time to clean it up really good again. I have looked and looked and it is no where to be found.. Maybe it is hiding under one of my huge piles of STUFF-haha..I like how the title on this is different stickers and then I used my cricut for the BALL .. I again did some hand journaling.. SOmthing I am into right now.. Happy Scrapping !!!

New Addition

Our family got a new addition last November 30, 2011-my little nephew-Jaydyn James Thompson. Here he is at my daughter's 13th birthday party with my Mom and Dad-aka-Grandma and Papaw. He was only 3 weeks old. His very 1st birthday party. He will be turning 1 year old in a couple weeks. I got this pack of boy paper just to make pages of him-hehe.. I haven't done very many boy pages. I cut out my NEW ADDITION on my graphically speaking cartridge. I rounded the corners on the paper-put a piece of ribbon down-cut out sme hearts-matted the picture-and put a few odd pieces of jewel clusters I had left down. I did all my journaling on strips. So simple but so sweet to me.

13th Birthday

I got this sketch from somewhere I just dont remember where.. I love how it turned out for me.. I am all about scrapping on white or cream paper.. i love the look of it. This is Kandis last December on her 13th birthday. She will soon be 14-makes my heart hurt.. My paper is from K&Company. I have been trying to hand write all my journaling lately-just so my hand writing will be on my pages for Kandis one day.. I know how much it means to me to find something that my grandma Thompson wrote before she passed.. SO I figured one day when I am long gone -maybe someone will feel the same way about me-hehe..
I am on a roll-i think this makes 2 or 3 pages the last 3 days-haha..

Kandis last year at School-in 7th grade-singing at a program they were invited too. I think it was a Veterans Day Program maybe. She sung a song. She loves to sing-I love to hear and watch her sing for the Lord-she puts her whole heart and sould into it.. She loves the Lord so much. Simple page I scraplifted off another blog tonight.. I love this new green and black page!! That is me cheering this time last year-2010 at a Alumni football game they had at my old school.. My school closed this year-and combined with a BIG NICE new High School with 3 of the other surrounding High Schools in this area.. So they did a tribute to all the alumni at the football game and let us actually CHEER the entire football game just like in the OLD days-haha.. It will be 20 years this May since I graduated High School. I think I did pretty good.. I know I had a blast and I am so glad I participated. These girls with me n the bottom picture are a few of the girls from the years I cheered.. Oh what awesome times we used to have-and what a great time we had that night..
So I had done this page before for my daughter - for her volleyball.. I had remembered I had bought some of the paper from my High School before a local scrapbooking store went out of business and was dying to try it out with MY COLORS!! I think it turned out great.. I used Wendy Baisden's - Easy Star template-by Hot Off the Press for all my stars! Then just layered lots of paper.. I had another template that I could use for the placement of my gems. I did all my journaling on the computer. I inked everything up and taped it all down. This isnt the page I did for my daughter, BUT this is the exact same page I did for Kandis just went different pictures.. I did this page a few weeks ago for 3 of the seniors on my daughters volleyball team at school. We had a senior night at one of the games and I made this page for each of the girls and we put it in a 12X12 frame for them.. I hope they liked it?!?

8th Grade

My little #1 Volleyball player is going on her 4th year on the Varsity Volleyball team at her school.. She goes to a Christian school and we dont have enough girls for a JV team so there for-she gets to play with the BIG girls.. Which hasnt hampered any of her play time.. She is a starter... For the last 2 years now. She keeps improving even more each each. I can only imagine how awesome she is gonna be by the time she gets in 10th and 11th grade-and she is GOOD already-haha..
SO all my time has been with her and on volleyball for the last 2 months.. Volleyball games and practice non-stop.. Starting to get some time in to scrapbook some of the billion pictures I have taken over the last few months.. This is just a few.
This page is so simple I am not even gonna explain anything .. I had that paper that had Regional Christian on the side of it and it just worked out for me perfect there.. Now that I sit and stare at this I am thinking I am gonna put her name up the side of the picture of herself.lol U can never have too much-haha..
I got a few more new pages I will post in the next few days.. I have been scrapbooking a lot-just for others and not for myself-making some books for some people. Just isnt as fun as making them for myself-hehe..

deep fried Oreos

My cousins Daniel & Lauren have been here all week. So I didnt do any scrapbooking.. I laid in my Mom & Dad's swimming pool all day-and played Rook in the evenings with my family.

My Daughter, Kandis, has been begging for me to make deep fried Oreos. I hadn't made them at home before but helped make them at a church thing we had for the youth once. There is nothing too it.. So I got all the stuff while out one day and cleaned out the ole deep fryer(which I had not used in I bet over 8 or more years). All U need is clean Oil , deep fryer, oreos, and pancake mix, and powered sugar.

Kandis was all smiles ready . Lauren was just a little scared at what we were creating-hehe
All U do is completely dip the oreos in the pancake mix-and then drop them in the HOT oil.. They do not take too long to make.. BUT u wanna make sure they get dark on one side-then u flip it over...I dipped the oreos in the batter, and Lauren took are of the flipping and getting the Oreos out!! lol
TA DA!! yummy deep fried Oreos.. They are soo yummy HOT.. BUT dont burn your tongue!! hehe
The oreo gets all soft & it is soo yum yum!! BUT very rich-I can not handle more then 2 at one time. BUT Kandis seem to be fine with 5. shew!!

We even tried our hand at a funnel cake with the left over pancake mix. I put all the batter in zip lock back and cut a hole in it. Then I poured it really fast.. IT was really really good.. I think me and Lauren liked the funnel cake even better then the deep fried oreos-haha.. I am gonna look for me a YUMMY recipe for the batter for funnel cakes!! lol

It was a yummy night-but I think we all almost went into a sugar coma afterwards-hehe

I am in love with this picture of my Husband, Roger, and my Daughter, Kandis.. They are always the biggest goofs. I do love it.. I love the way they look at each other with those silly grins.. So I knew what I wanted to do with this picture. I had seen a page like this similar in a scrapbooking magazine years ago -and held on to it knowing I would one day find the perfect picture-and I finally got it.. This is at Kandis' Homecoming this year-March 2011.
I used (well I traced) my Technique Tuesday stuff for the cicles.. Cuz i am so not that good.. Then cut my letters out on my cricut. My font is Lyrical Letters. Then just added lots of embellishments everywhere after that. Super easy if u have the Technique Tuesday things, and if U don't-U SHOULD!!! lol I am addicted to all their stuff!!! haha.

Cedar Point-Memories

I felt like I was falling off the wagon again. I had not scrapbooked a page in way over a week. Something I didnt want to fall in a habit of doing again.. SO I made myself sit down and do a page this evening.. I missed a couple of my favorite shows I like to watch even to scrapbook-lol.. Oh well-who cares about tv when u can make memories down on paper huh?
This page brings back a lot of memories to me - this brings me back to a vacation I had with my parents, brother, and Kandis back in the Summer of 2008 to Lake Erie & Cedar Point. This was one of the crazy pictures U buy after the ride is over.. In the 1st 2 seats are my Brother and my Mom-then me and Kandis are behind them.. This is the Maverick at Cedar Point. IT was late and dark when we rode this and we could not see a thing-which made it even funnier. We had no idea what was gonna happen next -it looped around curves, turned us upside down, and then slowed us to a complete stop at 1 point and took back off from 0 to who knows like 50 or 60 mph or more in so many seconds. It was a blast. It was my Mom's favorite ride of the entire day. I am glad it was cuz we had to wait a long time in line-haha..
I am in LOVE with this paper pack I used for this whole layout.. It is called URBAN RHAPSODY by K&Company. I bought it at Hobby Lobby.. It is double sided and it is just beautiful. I used my Cricut to cut out my letters and my word-MEMORIES(it was on Graphically speaking). Everything else was just layering my paper-after I inked it of course. I found a couple embellishments I liked that I had to add. I thought it needed some jewels of course. Never too many embellishments or too many layers.. I liked the way it turned out.. Hope U do too!!

Garden Time

This is the way I have spent the last 2 days. lol
My daddy has a huge garden full of any kind of vegetable u can think of.. Well it is very very very hot out and so I guess If I am gonna help I would rather be inside stringing and popping beans then anything else.. lol BUT after 2 WHOLE days of stringing and popping -my fingers and wrist are a little sore. I told my mom that me and my daughter were hanging out in the swimming pool on our floats tomorrow. haha
My mom has been canning beats. peeeeeee-U!!! I can't say that I dont like them cuz I have never tasted them but I can not stand the smell of them being canned. Oh my gracious.. As I get a huge pan of beans popped -I will take them to my Mom and Dad so they can put them in the jars to can-and I have to hold my nose just to go inside.. I told my daddy to HELP-i couldnt hold my nose and carry the beans in-so he was making fun of me and holding my nose for me while I was carrying the beans into the kitchen-haha.. My Mom said, she loves this time of the year when me and my daughter come in and hold our nose-haha.. So far my Mom has canned 84 quarts of green beans this year.. This is just the beginning. She has done lots of beets too.. She will still can potatoes-tomatoes-corn-vegetable soup-a pickled zuchunni/squash/onion mixture which I have come to LOVE!! Then pickles.. I am sure I have left some stuff off.. I have made like 6 loafs of zuchunni bread already to eat and i gave away a lot of it.. cuz that stuff is pure FAT-lol Besides the zuchinni that is in it-it is tons of sugar and vegetable oil-haha..
so when i get some more pictures of the finished products I will post some pictures!! Missed scrapbooking the last few nights!!! hope U all got to do a page or 2..

One of the simpliest pages I have EVER done... Not much too it.. I kinda felt weird making it a completed scrapbook page-I kept thinking I need to add more.. and more.. BUT I reallyl think if I add more it is gonna take away from what I love about the whole page. I still might add me some buttons-haha.. I stickled my circle and stickled my heart. BUT besides that -all simple -all easy.. Hope U copy this and put your loves in the middle!!!!

Here is a page I made this evening.. My daughter this past Easter.. I seen a page similar to this and I just made it my own. I love all the layering.. I am all about some flags. Then never a completed page without JEWELS!!! Then of course U gotta ink everything before u glue it down.. Only thing I wish that showed up more in the picture is my white under my green and teal polka dot paper.. It is not just a white paper.. It is a shredded piece of white.. looks a lot different in person..

Great Day

Had a nice lazy day at the pool today-U can see it in the background of the picture of Kandis. It's my Mom and Dad's(which I say it's mine becuz' they got it when I lived at home)haha.. I had a friend over and me and my friend and Kandis all laid on floats all afternoon. Then me and Kandis went to DQ for some chocolate blizzards later-and picked up a pizza for dinner.

Then my little chunkiers of a nephew came over and spent the evening with me and Kandis while his Daddy and Mommy went fishing for a few hours. As I am writing at 12:30am he is sleeping in my bed-awwwwww!!!! lol

It's been a lazy week here.. I havent did much of anything.. BUT happy to have started scrapping again. Before I did my 5 new pages this week I had not scrapbooked since last October. So it had been awhile. I guess sometimes scrapbookers get in a slump and I have been in one for awhile. BUT I seem to slowly crawling back out ..

7th Grade

Another quick page I did today. Simple page of my daughter's 1st day back to school last year. I liked it cuz I used 3 pictures-something I dont do very often-lol. I had to play around with some scrap paper until I figured out what size to get the pictures and the designed paper I used-I cut the pictures and the paper to be 3 and 3/4 by 5 and 3/4 , then I rounded the corners on them all. I set all the pictures and paper down on solid black paper.. The picture didnt scan that great but it looks really good with the black behind it.. I did all my journaling on a program I have them printed it off and rounded the corners. I printed off my Letters I used on my Cricut. I had a heart chipboard piece I copied for my heart. Then finally my orange piece at the top was a piece out of my pack of paper. VERY fast and easy page once I figured out how big to make the pictures and paper-hehe!!!

Just finished working on this page this evening and thought I would share it before i go to bed.. This is my daughter in the blue dress on the end next to her coach on the left. This is at her sports banquet on May 2, 2010. This is her volleyball team.
Super super simple and fast but pretty page.. I had this new pack of paper I had bought at Big Lots that I used for all the red squares.. I had gotten my volleyball brads awhile back at Hobby Lobby and have been wanting to use them for awhile.. I just used simple stickers for my title. I cut up white paper for my journaling. I had a piece of the star felt left over from something else I had scrapbooked once. So it fit perfect. I love my little volleyball ticket. I made copies of them before i used it so I can use it again-lol..

I did this page about 2am last night. I usually do my daughter a book for each school year but now that she is in Jr High/Middle School I think I will probably just start combining books. This is the 1st page I have done from her last year of school-7th grade. SO I need to get busy since before I know it summer will be over -and school will be starting again. The picture is Kandis as we were leaving for school. Aug 24, 2010.
This page was pretty easy as U can see. I made my green paper that I laid on my solid black paper just by copying another sheet of design piece of paper I have. I have a cute pack of school paper I used here. I just dont know who it was buy. I had split the pack with someone - lol. I did all my journaling on strips. My yellow arrow on the top is a brad. That is about it for this one..

July 4, 2011-INDEPENDENCE DAY

Horrah for the RED-WHITE-and BLUE!!!!! We love Summer and we LOVE flip flops.. So what better way to celebrate the 4th of July then Flip Flops with the US Flag and Red/White/Blue toe-nails.. lol

Kandis was all ready to go watch fireworks .. had her nails all painted up and her hair all in for the occassion!!!!

She matched well!!!

I love that smile.. I love holidays too-just another reason for me to take even MORE pictures of my GIRL!!! hehe

She is growing up way way to fast on me!!! My teenage daughter.. That is so hard for me to grasp that I have a teenage daughter!!! OH how I love her so much!!

I am very very BLESSED.. this is a picture of my little family at Christmas that just past-2010. I look at this picture and all I can do is smile.. Everything about them make me happy, everything about both of them make me complete. These 2 people are my LIFE-they are my EVERYTHING-my ALL!!!! I was getting ready to head out to the pool today with my daughter and her friend and it clouded up and started to storm-so I went ahead and did this page. It scanned a little dark in the middle becuz it is so 3d like with the flower and the butterfly.
I started off with black paper-and I made the edge of the blue paper scalloped like with another piece of paper I had by just tracing it.. then I used my hole punch to make holes in it myself. The blue paper I used for the back ground - the grey paper I used behind the picture- and the lite blue piece of paper on top with the flower and ribbon-and the cream like paper at the top with my journaling are all Tim Holtz paper. I havent had that paper too long and I am in love with it. I love to ink paper as much as possible.. I always use my Tim Holtz Distress Inks there too. The black piece up the side is out of a bag of strips of design strips I bought at Michaels. I got my butterfly at a CKC in Louisville that I went to a year and half ago.. I have those in so many colors-lol. Always gotta throw some jewels on there-My stash is those I am using like on this page I got at CKC is dwindling down fast-hehe. I cut my letters out on my cricut-I used the Mickey Mouse Font. I think that has to be my favorite font I own. Seemed like a simple page when I started but sure took me a long time.. LOL
2 pages in 2 days.. That is a record for me now-well for awhile.. Happy July 4th Everyone!!! Hope U had a wonderful day!!!

I FINALLY did a new page.. It had been a really really really long time.. I found a page Something like this on a blog or something years ago -so I scraplifted this a little bit. Changed it up some to be my own.

This is my daughter, Kandis, and my sweet nephew, Jaydyn. This picture was taken on Mother's Day at my Mom and Dad's.

I used a pack of DMCV paper called AT HOME for this whole page, except the little red heart. It was just a piece of scrap I had from another pack. I had the birdie template but i thing it was a cuttlebug thing my friend has and I just made myself a copy of it. The big circle i have on the page is my Technique Tuesday stuff I have, except I cant bear to actually use that stuff so I always just trace it and then I can use it over and over.. My little brown pattern piece of paper was another piece of patterned piece of paper I also copied. I traced my hearts from some chipboards pieces I had n a drawer. I had that cool, OLD lace, from a flea market awhile back.. I love that stuff.. I need to go to some more flea markets. I always seem to get the coolest stuff there. Then of course I can never do a page without jewels. It just doesnt seem complete without them. haha My big cream letters were from a pack of letters I had gotten a long time ago at Big Lots. I love to journal around the outside of stuff.

SO I hope I inspired someone that maybe hasnt scrapbooked lately like me.. It's a very good way to keep your mind busy!! Hope to do more tmrw-after pooling it all day of course.. Happy Independence Day to everyone in the US!!

Pauley Bridge

It was a beautiful morning here in the coal fields of southern West Virginia & Easter Kentucky. I had to take my daughter to Pikeville, Ky to have her braces tighten for the month and we decided to go to local photo spot for some pictures. . My daughter had one of her best friends, Carrigan with her. So we had a good time snapping pictures and goofing off. Here are Kandis and Carrigan at the beginning of the bridge.

RCS Christmas Play 2009

This is a page I had done a few months ago. My daughter is the Angel in the middle, of course. lol
This is at her school's Christmas Play in December 2009. Kandis was only in 5th grade-seems like forever ago since she is now going in the 8th grade.
I just wanted to share this page. All my paper is 2 sided. I used lots of ink before putting it all down. I love layering paper-so I did lots of that. I did strips of journaling.. Howdy! It's been a very very long time since I have been blogging, over half a year to be exact. I didn't thing there was much going on until I started posting pictures on here to update my last 6 mths to catch everyone back up. U will be able to see that a new fella has my heart these days-lol.. He is now 7 months old-He is my chunkers of a newphew Jaydyn. He is my lil brothers 1st child and I am in LOVE!!! So is my whole family.. It has been 13 years since we have had a baby in the family so we are lovin every minute of it.

So here are a few pictures to catch u up on where we are right now.. BUT mostly these days U will just catch us out at the pool-lolI now have a 8th Grader.. Kandis is no longer a 7th grader which makes this mommy sad.. BUT I am very proud of her.. This is a picture of her at Awards night in May.My parents (aka-Papaw and Grandma) are the best. They never miss anything regarding Kandis. She is so lucky to have them as grandparents and I am lucky to have them as MY parents. We love them so much! Here is a great way to cool off in the summer-Tropical Snos!!! This is June 24. Me and Kandis grabbed one out Friday while geocaching. A new addiction that I have come to love since about October. One of the reasons I have NOT scrapbooked that much in months. BUT I am gonna have to make time for scrapping cuz i am getting way way behind and i MISS IT!!!

This is my favorite thing to do all summer long.. Lay beside the POOL or lay IN the pool on a float.. Oh how blessed I am that my parents got us a pool when I was a teenager!!!

This is also Kandis' favorite thing to do all summer too-Except she does a WHOLE lot more swimming and jumping and diving them I do!! lol

Then again, We all love laying on a comfy float!!

Nothing better then combining my favorite place,THE POOL, with my,FAVORITE FELLA, and getting my, FAVORITE SLOBBER KISSES!!!! oh how I love them!!!

I am NOT the only one goo goo over Jaydyn!! This is Father's Day-June 19. This is my daddy and my Brother(so our daddy) and Jaydyn's Daddy(my brother-lol) Lots of reasons to celebrate.

My Brother, James, on his 1st Father's Day with his son, Jaydyn James. Jaydyn's shirt says I bet your Daddy can't Bolt like mine. My brother is a bolter in the coal mines!!

Jaydyn LOVES LOVES the swing outside.. This was Easter. He was laughing at me-(aka-Aunt Tay Tay). Funny how one little smile from a baby just lights up your world!!!

Spring comes and the Bees all come back out and start making HONEY.. Well at least that is what they are suppose to be doing .... We dont know what is up.. We have 9 bees hives-well we did and last year we got 3 and half courts of honey out of all of them. Then this year we should of robbed the hives of their honey once already but there is NONE.. The year before last we got flooded and got NO honey.. So 3 years and nothing. I told my husband we are firing all of them if they dont produce us some this year.. They are too much work and really aggravaiting at times

to be just be sitting on my back porch!!! lol BUT we do love BEES!!!!

RCS Homecoming for Kandis Faye. This made her 3rd homecoming and I have to say she was STUNNING.. Her Aunt Kayla did her make-up and Belinda Owens from Cuttin' Up did her hair. We got her dress at Heaven Sent. She looked so beautiful and sooo grown up. It hurt my heart!!!

NO her Daddy was not her date but we had to get a few pictures before we left the dance.. lol I do think he would of made a good date for her though.. Those 2 melt my heart!!!

We have BRACES now. lol Feb Kandis got braces. Hoping to have them no more then 14 months BUT if u have ever had braces u know how that goes.. She looks just as beautiful as always. She has adjusted to them so well..

In Feb-We got to go to the Bristol Race, in Bristol Tennesse. This was my husband's and Kandis' 1st time but Tyler(Kandis' friend) had been before. I had not been to Bristol since before Kandis' was born. So I was so excited to be there. We had such a great time. The weather was perfect-our seats were great. I could not have asked for a better day-Unless Jeff Gordon would of won instead of Kyle Busch-LOL!

With December came LOTS of Snow

As December comes to a end so is our HUGE piles of snow and ice that are piled up everywhere around us.. We had a very white Christmas here in WV this year.. It used to be the big question wether we would see any snow in the month of December here or not.. Now the big question the last 2 years is-HOW MUCH SNOW will be getting this month.. My daughter missed so much school for snow days last year her school had to resort to Saturday school all spring.. So hoping that in 2011 ole Man Winter will take it easy on us.. We have probably had snow covering our ground for over 2 weeks or longer now.. We got another huge wave of it Christmas Day night into the 26th and some of 27th.. On top of the already ice packed snow we already had I would say we were working on a foot.. hehe.. I think everyone around here is getting just a little bit more used to driving on the snow then they ever have.. ME-naaaaa. I still stay put when the roads are covered.. I dont feel like sliding off the side of a cliff.. lol

My best friend's daughter from Nashville, Lexi, got to stay with us a night this week. I was sooooo glad.. It meant Kandis had a sleigh riding buddy and it wasnt me.. They had a blast.. I didnt even brave it past the door taking pictures-the wind was blowing so hard and U cant really tell but it was POURING the snow at the same time.. burrrr!!!! Of course with sleigh riding comes all the layers of clothes and boots 1st.. hahaThe girls didnt seem to mind the cold-wind-or snow at all.. They braved it outside for over a hour or longer.. Kandis had to show Lexi how safe the BIG hill by our house was before she would make the journey down with her.. BUT after 1 trip down a lone-Lexi joined right in... See-taking pictures from the inside of my house-hehe

And again-I dont think my sweetie minds all this snow and snow days from school..

1 Birthday and 1 Birth

Its been a very busy couple of months here in WV.. Seems like when the November and December months are here I am busy with school stuff. I have not got to scrapbook in months. Planning on catching back up with that here very soon. SO I am falling behind fast.. lol Christmas will be here now in 5 days. We have snow on the ground and more coming down as I speak.. my daughter has enjoyed more then a few snow days off of school already..

Yesterday-December 19, 2010 I became the mother of a teenager.. SO hard to believe that my baby girl turned 13 years old.. I surprised her with a party. We had a houseful of family and friends.. It was the 1st time I have ever pulled something over on her like that.. It is hard when she is soo nosey.. lol I had foil balloons-a birthday cake-decorations-unwrapped birthday gifts-plus all her unwrapped christmas gifts all in my small walk in closest.. I did it though.. She was so happy...A lady we know from Belfry, Ky named Brittany Adkins ( http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/profile.php?id=1165995814) made us the wonderful cake.. She is now our offical cake maker.. she makes some wonderful cakes.. And they are not just pretty but taste amazing..

My brother has officially made me a AUNT. I have lots of neices of nephews on my husbands side of the family but the only grandchild on our side of the family was my daughter.. We have been blessed with a new baby boy to the Thompson family. He was born on November 30, 2010. His name is Jaydyn James Thompson.. He is the most precious thing I have laid eyes on in 13 years.. hehe.. Me and my family are in baby heaven.. We all keep taking our turns holding him even if sometimes it is just to see him sleep.. ha! He just turns 3 weeks today. He was 7lbs and was 19 inches long. My brother James and his girlfriend, Kim are totally in love with this little handsome fella.. So we have got the best gift ever for Christmas this year-a new baby to love ...

I just got this paper not long ago. It is a new pack not out too long I dont think by Tim Holtz. It is sooo pretty and 2 sided. SO this is just 2 peices and I used the front and backs of both sheets. I did all my journaling on strips. I just added a few flowers-gems-and gems clusters and that's it..
Time has flown by over the last 13 and 1/2 years!!!!

I pulled this picture WAY out of my oldies to do this page.. This is me and my daughter in 1999. She was just 2 years old or getting ready to be 2.. Recently I pulled out some of videos of Kandis when she was little and I had forgot how much I would get her to sing to the camera.. It didnt seem to matter when and how much I turned it on to her-she always sung-"tinkle tinkle little star" more like wittle star I think.. I love this title-Now I can always be reminded of her sweet song ..
This was a 5X7 I cut down a little bit. I used Wendy's Easy Star Template once again by Hot Off the Press.. I got that great ribbon at Big Lots for $1 for a huge roll. I used some different thickers I had for the title. A little ribbon at the top with a few of my mini Tim Holtz staples in it.. I had a few star brads i used. I had that journaling card I threw in for all my journaling. Then I had a huge pack of designed strips that I added up the side..
I love the older pictures scrapbooked-I want to forever remember these times!!!

Great scrapbook page of my daughter and her friends last December 19, 2009 on my daughter's 12th birthday.. We got a little snowed in on her birthday with no electric and had to change her ice skating birthday party into a snow sleigh riding party.. hehe.. I have soo many pictures from this great weekend.. SO I really liked this page becuz it gave me a way to post a lot of pictures..
I just got this new template called Easy Scalloped Frames by Hot Off the Press-I bought the template at Hobby Lobby.. I am in love with templates.. SO anytime I can find a cool new one like this I jump right on it.. SO it was very easy to make the shapes just perfect by tracing them out with the template.. I made the big scalloped frame with the template too.. I did all my journaling around the inside of the frame-one of my favorite ways to journal.. If U have this template U can whip this page out in no time.. I am sure I am gonna use it a whole LOT!!!

My sister in law took this picture of my family last fall 2009. I got a great punch at Big Lots that did my little flag like thing up the side of the picture.. I layered a few sheets of paper and that was it.. It turned out really nice.

How cute are these wittle birds and this tree.. Me and my cousin, Steff found this page in scrapbooking magazine or on my computer where I had saved it as a must do page. I wanted to make it sooo bad.. We didnt have any patterns for the birds or the tree-so Steff free handed both. She did a awesome job.. We did the tree tunk in brown and just added scrap sheets of paper to it.. BUT the birds are just so stinkin cute.. i love them-I wish I had made me a copy of the stencil we used so I can use it again!! lol.
These are pictures of my baby Girl-Kandis Faye and my mom-aka-Grandma. These were taken in Dec 1997 and Jan 1998-shortly after Kandis was born. Priceless pictures to me!!!

My Fall Angel

A cute Fall page that me and my cousin, Steff, done a couple weeks ago-Again while I was visiting in Michigan.. I am in love with all these fall colors.. I wasn't too big on the whole leaves to the side at 1st, because I had gotten new HUGE brown flowers that I thought would go perfect there but this seems to have worked perfect-Thanks Steff for pushing me there.. hehe.. I got that awesome cloth lace at a flea market.. I am just now starting to really dig into all the great goodies I got back in Feb at this awesome flea market that me and Wendy hit when we were in Lousiville at CKC this year. My butterflies and jewels were from CKC. I printed my letters from a cricket. Then I stickled them. I rounded all my corners and ta da!!!! My scanner program didnt do the best job on this page but still looking better then a normal picture taken..

I am off for a busy week-end of Volleyball tournaments with my daughter and her team a couple hours away from home. We are staying all night tomorrow.. So I will have some more awesome pictures of my little #1 Eagle Volleyball Player to scrap after this week-end. Hope everyone has a awesome weekend!!!! Fall is surely HERE!!!!

I love how this page turned out. These bottom 2 pictures are my daughter's school pictures from last year. Then the top one is a picture I had made last year during school.. SO I put this page in her school album I do for each grade. This is actually only one of the designed ovals BUT if u try and cut it the way it looks on the paper it will NOT work.. Sooo but using the pattern paper there U can cover up how U made it. hehe.. Me and my cousin Steff had to really sit and think how we were gonna get the other half of the design to work up there -lol.. I had got that ribbon at a flea market back in Feb of this year. I just got that clock at Hobby Lobby while I was in Michigan half off-It is made by Spare Parts. I also got my brown flowers on sale too that day at Hobby Lobby-also made by Spare Parts. All their Spare Parts embellies were half off that week.. Kandis just took school pictures yesterday for 7th grade-and she wore PINK this year for a change.. Her last 3 school pictures she has wore blue for some reason. SO I am stoked to get those-hehe I love to use pink scrapbook paper-LOL

This is a page I have worked on for over a month-I just finished it when I was in Michigan. I seen a layout similar to this a long time ago and knew this would be perfect for this once I got this HOT OFF THE PRESS Easy Star Template made by my friend Wendy Baisden. I made all the stars with the template with scrap paper I had. I used my Cricket to cut out my letters. I did ink the outside of the white paper but when I scanned it U can not see it all. I love to scrapbook on plain white paper. I love how clean it looks with all the colors. The rest of this is just self explanatory. Hope this would be a easy page for someone to lift... I know I gotta make this page for my daughter's teacher's book I made her last year. She is a WV University crazy.. hehe..

It's been a few months since I have posted anything or scrapbooked.. I guess with us enjoying the end of summer-and then school starting and volleyball for my daughter-things got busy.. BUT I got to go to Michigan last week to my cousin's house, Steffany, and we did 9 pages while I was there.. SO I finally have some new pages to post. So here is one of the 1st ones I will share.
This is a picture that my sister in law took of Kandis last October-2009. Almost all of this paper came out of a pack of paper called Rock Star-I just cant remember who it is by-oops!! It wasnt my pad of paper-hehe. It was so easy-Just a matter of putting paper on there with the pictures-and rounding all the corners. We added it all to a white sheet of paper-then matted it onto a peice of designed black and white sheet. I got that great 2 sided colorful ribbon at Big Lots last week. I have used it on so many pages already.. Then I used my Tim Holtz mini Stapler to keep it down. I found those buttons at Hobby Lobby-half off by Spare Parts last week. I had gotten my jeweled DAUGHTER on clearance rack awhile back at Michaels for hardly nothing. Then I had to add more jewels of course. I got those black bursts at CKC one time. Then just added a few flowers. It was our 1st page and I think it was one of my top favs of the week!!! The black and white picture makes the page for sure too...

One more page I did with my friends about a week ago.. I had a little bit more to finish of this one by myself at home. This is My family at my daughter's County Reading Festival.. She won 1st place out of her school and got to represent her school in the County Festival.. The County Festival wasnt a contest-it was more of just a showing of the best of each school and they all got big trophy's. SO me-My parents, my brother-and his girlfriend-and Kandis' boyfriend all came to watch her perform. She is such a drama queen. SO this is her favorite thing to do-perform for everyone..
The bird on here we cut out with cuttlebug-we used a doolie for the while piece on the bottom-just a paper one. I did my journaling on a card-I actually copied the card since I only had 1=incase I want to use it again one day. Then I used journaling strips for the names on the side.. My friend gave me the big peachy flower-she had tons of these that she had bought in packages at the GoodWill. Who would of thought huh-lol. The cream ribbon down the side is a piece of ribbon I got a Louisville or Charlotte CKC. We all used a piece of ruler ribbon on the top-then we each picked a strip of something to lay above it-i picked the stars and inked them all up. I got my tiny blue butterfly at Louisville CKC. I love them. I used some orange stickers for my title. Then just used a piece of patterned paper that was in this huge My Minds Eye pack that matched my background paper.. They both were out of the same pack-inked them all up...
This was my favorite page of the 4 I made with my friends that day!!!!!

Ok So some of U may have gotten the same note as me on the top of your blog tonight-Your background will be deleted by Fri 23-if not removed.. SO I am trying to change mine up.. I found a background I liked-but I can not seem to find any backgrounds that have matching headers-ugh!!! This header would even be ok-If I could fix it up and add a scrapbook page to it or something.. but I am not digging it-haha.. SO for now-just ignore it.. I love the summer swimsuits though-hehe.. Oh how I wish summer had 3 more months to go=-and June was starting over.. school will be starting in a month and oh how I ate to see it all come to a end-oh well I am rambling now.. ta ta!!!

a day with HILLBILLIES in Pikeville

Here is a 2 page layout I did on Monday. I love to do 2 page layouts-becuz' I get so many pictures on them, and everyone knows that I take a lot of pictures of every occasion. My daughter went to a pool party with some friends Monday so after I dropped her off me and Wendy did this page.. This is a lot of pictures from April 2010-at the 37th Annual Hillbilly Days in Pikeville, Ky. It takes us about 30 minutes to get there. It is just like a big fair/craft thing. Tons and tons and tons of food-soo many rides-then crafts and other stuff to purchase.. This made me and my daughters 1st time there.. My Mom had not ever went either.. SO she went with us and we took my daughter's lil boyfriend-then Wendy and her son were already there when we got there. Then my brother's girlfriend went with us too.. The kids rode rides for a couple of hours. It was so hot-me and Kim sat under shaded tree in a park and ate yummy food and listened to bluegrass music(which I hate by the way). hehe
We cut several circles out from the paper and put patterned paper behind it-like the stars & flowers- U buy that in 12X12 sheets. Then we just randomly places circle pictures about the pages. I did all my journaling around each of the circles-just explaining everything we did-ate-and bought that day.hehe.. This will be a great 2 page layout for my daughter to look back on one day-and remember this day by.. We got the idea out of a recent scrapbook magazine we had got. I forget which one though..
Here is one of the hillbilly trucks that was riding around the town that day.. Later in the day they had a huge parade.. I would of luved to have seen that.. I can imagine how funny it was..
Ok-I scrapbooked the top half of this on my page-but I think U need to see the whole picture to see the panties.. I wanted to get a picture of the guys.. Well he said ok can someone hold your water and take your camera-we want u in it. I say yea-so he reaches in his pocket and pulls out this big bloomers-and says get in-we are all dying laughing.. My legs are about the color of paper-haha.. This is just sooo funny..
This is my Mom coming down the house of mirrors.. Holding someone's yummy lemonade.. Everybody went in and they didnt realize u had to ride the slide to get down. It was soo funny-the slide was sooo slick-they would about fall when they got to the bottom-haha

Mom and Mikey were enjoying. My favorite thing besides the homemade lemonade was my funnel cake.. I love them.. Me-Kandis-Cory-Kim all sat in the park and pigged out with them.. hehe

My daughter and her best friends at the Homecoming Dance-March 2010. This is Kandis -n-Cory with her. Then Kandis very best friend-Rissa and her date-Trevor.. I made this page along with some of my friends the other night when we all got together and cropped.. We all did this page-but of course by the time we got it done-they all looked different..
We again used my friend, Wendy Baisden's NEW Hot Off the Press-Easy Stars Template for our stars. We layered tons of paper. I added a few journaling strips to mine. Then some chipboard letter stickers. I had to ink everything I had tonight for some reason?? hehe Then I distressed all my layered paper. We punched out some circles to make the yellow circle around the whole page. Then I just added me some jewels to make it pretty.. Very bright and fun page!!!

Daddy & Me

I got to do some scrapbooking with some of my friends last night.. It was really fun!! There was 6 of us crammed into my friends scrapbook room-hehe.. We all did the same pages-I think they were speed scrapping-becuz in less then 4 hours we did 4 pages.. Way more then I could ever do by myself.. I was still not finished with the pages when I left.. Still putting my own little touches on them here at my house.. One of the girls has having a hard time with all the laying we were doing with a bunch of different pattern paper-so we were picking pages to do out of a magazine(just scraplifting)-hehe.. So Connie picked this page to do-Notice there is only 1 piece of pattern paper on this one-HA!!! She was so funny!!! She was stressed out all night over all that pattern paper.. If she scrapbooks very long with us though-she will be piling that pattern paper all on top of each other!!!
This is a page of my girl and my husband in March of this year. Kandis got 6th grade homecoming attendant -and her Daddy escorted her out onto the floor during the Court.. I love this.. We went and got Daddy a cute lil gold shirt and matching tie and shirt to match Kandis.. I love the way he had his arm around her.. I love when they walk out onto the floor when they anounce her name-and her Daddy is beside her holding her arm-Makes me sooo proud. I can see how proud he is too!!!
Super simple page-I used a 5X7-a strip of pattern paper-a piece of ribbon and a piece of lace on the bottom... I cute cream piece of rick rack and a green flower and this cute big bling for the middle ( that Connie gave me) -I need some big bling like that!!!! Used some big cardstock stickers for my letters-a stamp for my journaling. I journaled up the side of the picture. Then finally one patterned corner piece.. Anyone could whip this up in NO TIME!!! try it out

Love this page... IT has to be one of my new favorites.. I have to thank my friend Wendy for almost all of it.. Even though I scrapbooked it myself at home.. She took this picture of Kandis in October 2009-during Volleyball season for us of Kandis.. Then she gave me one of her new Hot Off the Press -Easy Star templates that she designed.. SO far she has designed she 3 templates for Hot Off the Press and this is the Newest and Most recent that is going to be released.. Our Puggles

Our Beagle dog, Sassy, had 6 new babies on June 23.. My daughter has been sooo excited and waiting all summer for these.. We were so excited when she had 6. She didn't have normal Beagle puppies though-she had Puggles.. If U have never heard of a Puggle, it is mix breed between a Beagle breed and a Pug dog.. So our red and brown Beagle was breed with my cousin Mark's Pug, Jay Bo, which is solid black.. There are 5 boys and 1 girl in the litter. The girl is black-then 2 more black boys and 2 brown and black boy ones.. These puppies are the cuttiest things ever.. Of course-all puppies are-haha.

A Puggle is a short-haired, with a wrinkly face and a stocky body. They have a short nose, and a slender body, like beagles. Puggles average about 20 pounds and stand not taller than 15 inches (38.1 cm) at the shoulder. One of the biggest benefits of a Puggle is the fact that their noses are not as flat as a Pug's, so they do better in hot weather, and have less breathing problems.

The picture above is the day the puppies were born-June 23, 2010.. They are 16 days old today.

Here Kandis is holding one of the brown and black babies just born.. They were sooo tiny..

Here is Sassy, their Momma, and her puppies on July 13.. They were only 10 days old.. They still had their eyes shut but it didnt stop a few of them from finding their Mommy... Sassy is sooo good with them...

These pictures were taken today, July 9, 2010.. This is Kandis' pick of the litter.. She is gonna keep this lil boy. She has named him Tank.. She brought him inside to visit for a few minutes today.. He liked it as much as we did-lol He is the biggest out of the bunch... All the puppies eye's opened the other day.. so now they are even cuttier-haha.. If that can even happen..

Tank found a comfy spot on my lap.. He fits in the palm of my hand.. awww

Then he decided he loved this spot on my chest even more.. U just cant resist a puppy...

So we are gonna sell the other 5 puppies for $150 each.. That is not a bad price either.. They will have been wormed and be up to date on their shots when anyone gets them. I have been looking online too and they sell anywhere from $300-$750.. WOW... If you want one and live close to me-let me know.. hehe

My all American Girl.. Kandis was all smiles for me yesterday-on the 4th.
Hope everyone had a blessed 4th of July week-end.. Probably most people that work have today off too. SO if u do-hope U are enjoying a extra day of relaxing... I had a great week-end. Full of Family-Food-Fireworks and pool. We have had 100 degree weather here for days in WV. It doesnt look like a cool down anytime soon. So if U are out no better way to kill the heat then a dunk in the pool. Here are some photos of our holiday week-end.

This is my Daddy and his brother Ralph(my Uncle Ralph) playing basketball with my lil cousin Kaden. My Dad and Uncle just put our basketball rim back up in the last few days. It has been down since last May when we got flooded really bad..

Here is a few of my family at my Uncle Paul's house getting ready to watch some fireworks.. We had a great time-only had 1 big scare when one of the BIG fireworks turned over and came popping right at the porch.. haha The porch cleared really fast.. No injuries-just a lot of laughs.. hehe

It's been a yucky day here in WV... Not the way u want to start out a Monday... I had to take my daughter to the dr's office this morning.. She has swimmers ear.. Yep-never fails-she gets it every year.. My parents have a inground pool-and we live 10 ft from it-lol... So no underwater swimming for her for a few days. I got wax earplugs for her too-I am sure that will not last long though.. We had a huge huge thunderstorm while we were waiting on her meds to get filled-we were in Walmart-WOW!!! It was awful.. It looked like a hurricane outside and sounded like it inside walmart.. We got home and had no electric for about 3 or 4 more hours.. Then our cabel and internet didnt come on for 3 more hours.. soooo.. not the way I wanted to spend my Monday-haha.. I really wanted to be laying on a float in the pool-ha... SO with no cable or tv-I made a layout.. I got the idea out of a new creating keepsake book.. This is last 4th of July-2009. This is my Mom-Me and my cousin from Michigan, Brian-my daughter and my step son, Clayton.. We had a blast with the sparklers as U can tell.. haha..
I cut my pictures into 3 inchs x 2 and 3/4.. so they would fit like that.. I matted them on a white piece of cardstock.. Then I matted that on a piece of red/blue star paper.. I just cut me a strip of white and taped it down.. And had this flag ribbon I used.. I used thickers for my letters. I had those cute Jolee's by You I had gotten at Big Lots for $1.25.. Then added a few star brads. It was a super fast page....
SO my cable is back on and I have lots to look at now.. SO hope u like-hehe

I scrapbooked a few older pictures here. These pictures are from Thanksgiving 2008. This is my Mom and Dad(aka Grandma & Papaw), me and my husband(Roger), and my daughter(Kandis). We are at her school for the annual Thanksgiving dinner. She was so blessed that it worked out that everyone got to come this year..
This page was just a lot of layering paper and some ripping of the paper with some inking of course.. lol I ripped off the top of my pictures. I just a piece of ribbon to go across the page with a chipboard embell I had.. The Thankful letters are some chipboard stickers. My Autumn and my leaves are some wire embellies I had from way back. I did my journaling around the bottom of the paper .. For some reason I am thinking it needs something else-but I can not figure out what.. I have stuck stuff there to see if it looked right and it doesnt-SO if u have any suggestions-let me know-Pleeeeeeze!!! lol

Ok seriously-I got a bit happy and sad all at one time looking at this picture of my baby girl.. I can NOT pinpoint the date on this but I know it had to be sometime in the SPRING of 98-sooo I am thinking Kandis is 5 or 6 months old.. It could be summer but thinking NO-lol... oh my baby girl is 12 and half now and so big-time has flown-I just dont know where it went. I know everyone thinks there babies were the sweetest sooo I have to bragg that mine really was-haha.. She loved the barn-like she does now-we all fought over her neck sugar-it was so cute. Oh what I would do to have a few of those baby days back with her.. shew!!!!
SO me and Wendy did this page the other day instead of cleaning like we should of been doing at her bed and breakfast.. I am trying to get Wendy's scrapping juices going again.. The page turned out great. I love this ADORABLE sticker that Wendy let me have. Then the other journaling circle at the top was a stamp she had.. Lots of pretty's on this-including the baby-hehe..

She Loves the Pool

Super quick page I threw together last night before I went to bed.. I used a cream solid paper as my background.. Then a cream and green designed paper as my second paper and all I did was rip it and ink it some.. Then I had a green piece of design paer that I ripped and put down. I cut my letters from my lyrical letters cricut cartridge. My heart was a plain 3-d heart that I stickled purple.. I used a piece of ribbon down the side and added a few mini Tim Holtz staples down the side too. I had some plastic green and white flowers I used on different spots. Then I did all my journaling down the side.. I like the way it turned out..
This is this summer-June 2010-My daughter in my parents pool-Next store to us-hehe!!

Birthday Wish

This is a old picture but a new page of my daughter on her 10th Birthday in 2007. I got the idea for this page out of a OLD Scrapbook Trends magazine from 2007. I a big yellow and a big orange flower layer on top of each other for the top. My yellow letters are thickers that I put diamond stickles on. I copied my little card at the bottom from another card I had but it was a different color that I didnt want to use-and now I can use it again or copy it again for something else.. I used a template to trace around the edges with a white pen. Then I filled in the empty space inside the white pen with liquid glass to give it a glossy wet look. The scan just doesnt do it justice..
I got in the mood to scrap tonight and did 2 pages. I will post the other one tomorrow!!!

Back 2 School

The last of 15 pages in Mrs Starr's book. I am hoping to add 5 more pages to it over the summer. This is on the 1st day of school this year that just past-in August 2009. Kandis is in 6th grade-in the green t-shirt.
I started with green cardstock. Then I cut a inch off each side of brown cardstock and matted it to the green. I had some school paper and I cut a long strip of the red-and rounded the corners on it. Added the picture and round the one corner on it.. The blue strips on the outside of the journaling were done with my blue glimmermist. I did the journaling on my computer. I added another small piece of stripped cardstock to the top and rounded it's corner. I used red thickers for my title on the top. I cut a thin green strip of cardstock and added it down the middle. The black letters are just some thick cardstock stickers I have. Then the jewels are part of some jewels clusters I have.. Cute page... Now it's time for me to copy all 15 of these pages and change my journaing around for Kandis' 6th grade book-hehe

Christmas Play

Another page I did for the teacher's book. This one is from their Christmas play at school in 2008-Kandis was then in 5th grade.. My daughter is the beautiful White Angel-hehe.. Mrs Starr's kids got the majority of the speaking parts and main characters this year-becuz of their ages.. It was a awesome page-and I feel in love with this picture of them all.
Another super easy page.. I just matted my photo to brown paper-then matted it again to a blue paper and then I ruffed the edges up on that. Then I matted it again on a cream paper and inked it all.. I made corner pieces for 4 places-big ones for the outside of the matts and put jewels on them and then corners on the inside of 2 corners of the pictures again with jewels. I added a part of a jewel cluster I had. Then I added a decorative strip i had in white. Iput some flowers on the corner.. Oh and I see I added 2 more corners on the 2 opposite sides of the edges of the decorative paper-i used snowflake paper. I used my white pen and marked on corner pieces.. I made me a circle out of paper from the same pack as the snowflake and I distressed it too and inked it all up. I did my journaling on the computer and then matted it.. I didnt realize I matted that much on this-lol. I added a few journaling strips from the computer on top. Then I bent over the corner and snot dotted it down-I should of used my tim holtz staple gun for that-lol.. I put a piece of designed paper behind it since my paper was not double sided. That's it. Just a lot of cutting and matting is all.. I have ths stuff all ready for me to do this for Kandis' book now.. hehe

Another simple page that took hardly no time to finish.. This is Mrs. Starr's 5th and 6th grade classes this past Christmas-2009 at our local mall. The kids went shopping for secret santa gifts for each other..
I love my jewel words I got at Michaels on clearance. I had some christmas paper I used on the top. I round the coners on my pictures n paper.. I used a flower with rhinestone and did all my journaling again with my white ink pen.. ..

Thursday Me, Kandis, my step-son, Clayton, one of my best friends, Jenelle, and her son, Nathan went to the Breaks Interstate Park. She took lots of pictures of her in different outfits in several different places but these are the 1st two pictures she has got to edit.. The one of her in the water is my favorite i think so far-out of the 2 -LOL! I am sure I will be changing my mind soon.

This one is incredible. It makes Kandis look way older then 12. hehe.. I love her big brown eyes here.. Just beautiful...

1st Day of the new school year for 2009/2010 at Regional Christian School. This is Kandis and her class with her teacher-Mrs Starr. Another page I did for her teacher for her book. I did 15 pages total for her book.. Kandis is in 6th grade here.
This page was the easiest ever. I put the 3 pictures together-then i used white thickers for my letter.. I used the clock I had and added a few flowers-I added some jewel clusters to the corners and did my journaling around the pictures.. soooo simple...

Here is a sweet page I did of Kandis' teacher-Mrs Starr and her husband.. He drove the van with some of the kids on our trip to Columbus, Oh to COSI... SO he ruffed it with us as we all slept in the hallway at COSI.. The kids adore him and were fighting over him-when it was time to find them a chaparone to run around with-hehe..
I love this paper I used. It was in a paper pack-The scanner just doesnt do it justice-it is simmery. I made the lite blue design on both sides of the pictures with a edge punch. . The dark blue butterflys are some strips I have.. My letters are some felt thickers. My green flowers with the gems in the middle are petaloos. My cream colored flowers inked in green are some flowers I just traced and cut myself-I need some major punches-hehe.. I stitched my buttons on. The cherish at the top is a 3-d cardstock sticker by K&C co. I did all my journaling by a computer program I have. I just added some blue pearl gems on the top and bottom.
I can't wait to try this layout for one of my books with some different pics-hehe

St Patricks Day-Go Green

This is St Patricks Day at school-in 2009 when Kandis was in 5th Grade.. I missed it this year at school.. I hate that I didnt get a picture of them all dressed up in Green this year.. Mrs Starr always throws them a GREEN party at school on this day! Oh what fun-Green everything-from snacks to drinks-and green hats and glasses and necklaces.. oh to be a kid in 5th grade-hehe.. This page scanned a little funny up top on my scanner program but it is really cute.. I had some cute st patty's day paper -i just layered it all up-and inked it all to death. I had some green sparkly/glitter letters I used for St. Patricks Day .. Then I Had thickers I used for go green. The strip on the bottom that is designed was white-I used some green glimmer mist on it.. I had got the cute gem clovers on clearance for like 50 cents at Michaels.. Then my little parthenasis(sp?) is My Minds Eye maybe..

Here is Kandis this year before she went to school on St Patrick's Day.. She was GREENED out from head to toe!!She wore my sweat pants to school that were like 10 sizes to big on here becuz' they were too green. She just stuffed them into her boots though.. She was very cute!

COSI Fun

SUPER simple page here-I know I say that a lot-I guess when u look at them from my view after they are done they all seem that way-hehe.. BUT this page didnt take me long at all.. Probably the longest part of this was cutting the letters out on my cricket and then gluing them all back together.. lol My COSI letters look exactly like the sign outside the place-i love my letters-i used the mikey mouse font cartridge for this and my #'s.. I did my journaling with my white pin again on the outside of the paper.. I had to add me some jewels...
This was a fun trip that the 3rd-7th graders at school made back in March of this year to COSI in Columbus Ohio.. If U live close and havent been there-u should go-SOON!! hehe

Here is a page from Thanksgiving 2008 when my daughter was in 5th grade.. again-a page for the teacher's book I made.. My daughter is the bowl of mashed potatoes with the slab of butter on her head.. Her class was doing a skit for their annual Thanksgiving program.
I love the way this page turned out.. I used my bendie ruler again for this.. I just stacked 2 sheets of paper on top of each other-the red and yellow papers. I made the design with the ruler then cut them both at the same time and then they fit all together like this.. I matted the yellow and red to a peice of white paper.. Then matted the white paper to a stripped peice of paper.. I cut out the Thankful from my cricket. I love all the journaling down the middle of the white strips. I cut out a little circle notch out of each end and placed a jewel there-u could add a jewel or eyelet or brad.. Of course I had to ink it all up.. lol I am anxious to try this page out a few different ways here in the near future!!

My Crazy Kids

I think this is the 2nd page I did for Mrs Starr's book.. I added a little of everything to this page. This is Kandis' 2 classes from the last 2 years. The top one is from her 5th grade year in 2008/2009. Then the bottom one is this year in 6th grade.. I am always taking group pictures of these kids as much as I can but then we have to get a silly picture-which comes easy for these group of kids-or any I am sure!! lol
The arrow I cut out here is from a template I bought at CKC a year or so ago.. The letters I used are cut from my cricket. I stickled both the arrow and the letters. Then the cream thing i put the letters on-I ran it thru my cuttlebug. The roll call card-is just a card I bought at my friends scrapbook store. I wish I had another one now.. I have learned to copy them on my printer/scanner. I forgot on this one.. I did all my journaling on my computer.. and just cut them and ink them into strips. The FUN is a 3-D cardstock sticker from K&C company. I added the flowers and added jewels to them. There u go..

Ok I had to post this one too-Mrs Starr's 6th Graders trying to pull one over on her during awards night.. They gave her a 8X10 picture of the girls, a bouquet of roses, some green citrus tea for all the tea they have drunk of her's this year, and a swimming pool float for her to relax on this summer in her new Pool.. We didnt pull one over though-she had bouquet of daisys for each of the girls behind the trophy's and a giftcard from gamestop for Matt.. how sweet.

So if U have kids U have probably attended a Awards ceremony in the last month-academic or sports-hehe.. This page is another page for the teachers book. This is last years Awards night-2009. The big 5X7 pic is of my daughter's 5th grade class with Mrs. Starr.. then the bottom pic is of both the 5th and 6th graders together.. It was also a simple page... I used my bendie ruler my cousin Paula bought me to make the waves up the middle of the paper... It is 3 different sheets of paper I used here.. My little trophy is a new cuttlebug cutout and embosser thing I just got for $2 Big Lots.. Thanks to Wendy for finding such great cuttlebug folders for so cheap... My letters are stickers. That's all to this page...

This is Thursday night, June 3rd, at awards night at school.. All 4 of the 6th graders.. Which are all now 7th graders!!! Congrats kids on a job well done-and a even bigger thanks to Mrs Starr for another Great Year!!!!

My Girls

Another one of the pages I did for Mrs Starr.. She only had 4 kids in my daughter's 6th grade class and 3 of them are girls. Then in the 5th grade there were 7 boys. So these 3 girls were considered "MY GIRLS".. I love the pictures of all 3 girls-i took them during class one day this year.. The top picture is Amarissa(my daughter's BFF), then Kandis, and Deanna. All 3 girls have gone to school together since k-4. So we are 8 years strong now here..
My page is matted on all red but my scanner didnt show that all that good.. I love the bright colors on this.. I actually did some sowing on a sowing machine my mom is letting me use-I got to the end and it quit working but at least it worked for this.. My letters are stickers.. I inked a lot on this. Then I just put jewels everywhere-I LOVE jewels.. This page is sooo simple but sooo pretty and happy!!! Just like these girls..

No I havent stopped scrapbooking-LOL.. I have actually been scrapbooking like a busy bee... I have been working on a scrapbook for my daughter's school teacher. I was pushing for a 20 page book but since I am such a procrastonator I got 15 done before I gave it to her today-on our last day of school.. I might have gotten a couple more pages in also but as I would do a page for her-I would go ahead and cut out everything for my daughter's 6th grade book that I will work on soon. SO now it will be a matter of sitting down and putting it together and adding her pics to the pages and her journaling. I am sure the pages will end up looking different but the same?
This 1st page is of Kandis and her teacher, Mrs Starr, over the last 2 years. She has had the same teacher now for 2 years.. Mrs Starr has been her teacher now for 5th & 6th grades.. Our daughters also play volleyball together and cheerlead together.. So we will not be far from each other next year. lol
I love all the distressing on this page of course.. it actually made my hand cramp i distressed so much-lol.. Of course if u distress U have to ink. I added a few rub ons in the corners. I was happy to fit so many pics on this.. Something I dont seem to do with all my 1 page layouts. Can never have a page with out a jewel or a flower-ha...
It's been a busy couple of weeks with school ending.. We have had parties-Amusement parks-Awards nights-family for holidays. It's been fun... My daughter is now a 7th Grader.. Blows my mind.. We are officially on SUMMER Break for the summer now though!!!!!!!! yippee-Late Nights-Sleeping In-Sun-Pool-Lazy Days!!!! woot woot!!

I have been trying to work on my daughters school scrapbooks.. Here is a page I did this week from this school year. She is in 6th grade this year.. Anything that has a owl or tree on it seems to be the hot thing this year.. I got this cute owl paper on the clearance rack at Michaels Craft store awhile back. I love the bright colors of it-the only thing that would make it better is if it was glitter paper-lol!! I threaded all my buttons of course.. I trimmed all the yellow and owl paper so it is laying on teal paper.. The red strips are a pack of strips I bought at Michaels also. I just hand made my little bows. The picture is of my daughter and her precious teacher-Mrs Starr and then the bottom one is of her class outside this fall during our annual Book Fair.. The page turned out good!!

Mother's Day & My 13th Anniversary

I took this yesterday of Kandis at my Dad's barn-Kandis loves to pose for a picture..

This is my Family-Roger-Me-Kandis-and my step son Clayton... This was taken in last August 2009 by my sister in law Yesterday my sweet daughter could not wait for me to get up. She had stayed up late the night before and planned the sweetest stuff for me for Mother's Day..My husband was gone to work-so it was just me and her all morning/afternoon.. She sung me a song by the Isaacs-it may be called 1/2 a day away from U?? Not sure-but she sounded so beautiful singing it to me-she put her whole heart into it..Then she had secretly painted me a rock for my flower garden. It said Mom with the O as a heart.. Then since she had not bought me any gifts she went in her room and picked me out stuff of hers and wrapped me up her stuff-I really wanted to cry but was trying not too.. A tiny bottle of lotion-a sweet card that says U are a blessing that I had given to her some time ago-a hersey bar out of her easter basket-and 4 coupons-a free body massage-a free clean car-a free pedicure-and a free clean the house.. Plus she gave me a huge foot rub and warmed up my neck thing for me. I got so much special treatment.. Plus she made me such a sweet mother's day card.. I am soooo blessed... I have a step son too - his name is Clayton and he gets to spend Mother's Day with his Mom of course but I love him too!!!

So Yesterday, May 9 2010, also was me and Roger's 13th wedding anniversary.. I am very blessed to have been married for such a long time.. I love Roger so much.. This was a difficult year for me and my husband was always right beside me to help support me.. We started our 12th anniversary last year on May 9th with a horrible flash flood-and my husband and my Dad are such take control guys. If it had not been for those 2 we would of totally lost our house . But this year we start out dry and even though the signs of the flood are still evident in our backyard-it proves as long as U stand together-U can get thru anything!!!! I can not wait to see what the next 13 years has in store for us!!!

This is a page I have been working on for a few days-it has been sitting on my scrapbooking table and I would do a little thing here and a little thing there.. I seen this page in one of my recent scrapbooking magazines-Not sure if it was creating keepsakes or scrapbooks etcs. BUT when I seen they had used this TWEEN rub-on that I already had I had to make this page asap. Her journaling even matched my pictures to a T. hehe.. one thing I have to have on all my pages but something I dont feel I am very good at-shew!! I struggle to put down in words what I want to say so bad.. These pictures were taken this fall by Wendy Baisden http://wendybaisden.blogspot.com/. These are my favorite pictures I think she has ever taken of her-with her homecoming pictures running in a close 2nd.. I made my pink flower with my snow angel glimmermist-it was creme to start with-i love the way it turned out =such a pretty pink. I got the journaling card at my friends local scrapbook store, the Open Book. This is my daughter in her volleyball jersey and her cheerleading warm-up. She is only in 6th Grade but these pictures make her look so much older I think.. I love the way the page turned out.. My girl is truely my heart...

Me and husband are about to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary on May 9th-and so I scrapbooked this older picture of me and him from way back. I am thinking this was taken somewhere close to 2003. Let me give everyone a word of advice-make sure u write on the back of pictures the date of when u took the pictures.. As I start to scrapbook older pictures I struggle to remember when they are. Even only being married 13 year-It it hard to remember the years on these.. The pretty you+me I got at Michael's off a clearance rack. I made the heart out of jewels my self. Super easy and simple page.. try it out!!

Fun Colorful page. This is my cousin and one of my very best friends-Steff. This is us on Black Friday out being goofy early n the morning.. Tons of bright pretty colored paper all layer up and inked. Sowed 1 strip one the page. A couple big flowers and then some different colored buttons. I used a rub on to journal alittle on. I had to use one of my jewel titles of course.. I used the Tim Holtz mini stapler to put my polka dotted ribbon down. That thing is the bomb-I used Wendy's but I so gotta get me one very very soon.. it is the next thing on my list .. I used one of my mini new butterflys on my flower.. A lot going on this page.. but I love it!!!

My National Scrapbooking Day Pages

I hadnt planned anything for National Scrapbooking Day but at the last minute my friend Wendy decided to come to my house and scrapbook with me late.. It was a fun change becuz' we usually scrapbook at her house with her huge room full of supplies. I finally had a chance to share a few things from my stash-it was FUN... We have been playing out pages from some scrapbooking trends magazines.. Always nice to get the juices flowing with ideas from magazines..
My 1st page is my daughter and my husband(Daddy). I might have went a little over board with the jewels but hey-bling can only make it look better..I got tons of those jewel clusters at Michaels on clearance the other day-so I stocked up on them in all colors. Love my felt green thickers. I have been journaling a lot lately around my edges-really liking the way it looks..

This page is of my husband, Roger and his Daddy, Roger Lee. They both have bees-so we both have lots of bee swarms.. Here is one they captured at my house last spring. I used glimmermist on my Big chipboard B-in forest green. I used my felt green thickers again-lovin that color. I got those pretty jewel burst at CKC in Louisville in tons of different colors in Feb.. Then I just got my cute lil bees at Michaels for 50 cents the other day on Clearance too-dont u just love a sale!!

This one is of my husband on a train at work one day back in April 2004. He is a Engineer for N&S Railroad but was working fireman this day. A man was out taking pictures of trains one day and asked these guys if he could take their picture-and he took it and mailed us this 5X7...It is great.. Very simple page of just layering paper over paper. I got these cute lil screw brads at CKC in Charlotte or Louisville last year.. I had to take pictures of most of these pages -mostly becuz they were so thick.. but this one becuz the strips were just not matching up at all..

This last one is of my daughter back in April 2006. This was her 1st trip ever to build a bear. I got this great tree CKC also.. Also got this stencil to this owl i used. Then of course everything looks way better with stickles.. just incase U want to copy this page-my pictures and pattern paper were 3X4 inches.. I seen this page made somewhere-but the squares where a lot smaller. I love how I was able to use 3 pictures on this.I have had these pictures to scrapbook a long time..

So I hope everyone else got to scrap some on NSD-if not-never too late to catch up!!

We used yet another page out of one of the scrapbooking trends magazines as our example.. I am in love with everything on this page.. I am gonna start sowing some more by hand.. Got a few more pages done this week... I think I am back in the groove again. Me and my friend Wendy scrapbooked 2 days this week.. Here is one of the pages I made this week.. It is "my family". It is me, my husband, my Mom, my Dad, my Brother, and my Daughter. The picture was taken the beginning of June last year at my Grandpa's funeral in Michigan. It is the 1st picture I have had of all 6 of us in forever and forever...
We did a little sowing here-and I am soooo not good at it-if u look closely u can tell.. haha... We seen a page like this in a new scrapbook trends magazine out. We just made it our own. I love my lace-I got this at a flea market in Lousville in Feb this year when I went to CKC.. And if U watch the next few pages I put up U will notice a big bunch of gems.. I got some cool clearance ones the other day at Michael's.. BUT of course I still need more-LOL

Well me and my Friend Wendy http://www.wendybaisden.blogspot.com/ finally took a whole day and did nothing but scrapbook while our kiddies were in school on Wednesday of this week. It had been weeks and weeks since either of us had put a new page out. So to get our creative selves going-we got some of our new scrapbooking magazines out and copied some pages.. We got great ideas and turned them to our own. So if any of them look familar to U-that is why.. We both got 4 pages done in no time today.. It has totally put me back into the swing of it..

Here is Kandis in 2000. She was only 2 and half years old.. Seems so unreal that this was 10 years ago cuz i can remember this day as clear as ever.. This is her dress she wore for a wedding as the flower girl for my husband's cousin's wedding. The 1st of many for her-lol. I took her to Olan Mills to get these pictures and it was so hot and humid out that by the time we got there her hair had all kinked up. So her hair was NOT in pony tails -hehe.. She did get Kid of the Week out of the 3rd picture too-aawwww!! lol.. I am not totaly done with this page-I want to hand stitch a stitch around the edges of the white cardstock.. I just have not got to it yet.. i will though-soon. This is my beautiful Mother in law with all her Girl Grandbabies. My sister in law-Kim www.epportraits.com ... I still have to journal on this.. My least favorite thing to do.. BUT I will not be finished with it until I do that.. Sometimes I just have to think about it.. I love to have the journaling-I think that is the most important I just seem to be the worst with the words.. I havent totally decided where to add it either.. I think i will put it either around the white of the edges or around the curves of the yellow clock?? I am in love with my new butterflys I got at CKC in Louisville. I bought tons of them in all colors.. SO U will see tons of them I am sure...

I have actually had this page done for probably 3 or 4 weeks and it has been sitting on my scrap table.. I had everything but a title on it and a picture.. SO once I got the picture still had not decided on what for the title.. BUT after a trip to Michaels the other day-I came home with this beautiful ALL OF US. It worked perfect and when I seen it I knew where it was going.. It was n the clearance bin too.. I got several of these title gem stone things. The picture really does not do it justice.. It is made of all jewels and the US is in baby blue.. I have decided to let my mother in law-Karis- do my journaling around the edges of the lite blue on all 4 sides.. I think it will be awesome to have her handwriting on this page . I think I am gonna have to start doing this morning often so I can get other people's handwriting down on pages forever!!!!

This is my Husband n my baby girl.. Kandis was just a few days old. SO this was Dec 1997-probably around Christmas.. These pictures melt everything within me.. They make me smile from the inside out.. I love these 2 more then anything.. oh how time has flown by

This is all the Messer Grandkids except Baby Nathan who happens to be 1 year now. At this point he was tired of taking pictures.. This is August 2009. This is what is written about me on my feature on my Bio and my questions I answered. there are the 5 pages I picked to let be featured.. Just a few of my favorites.. SO hard to choose.. lol

Hello my name is Kelly. I was born a city girl in Michigan but can officially say I am a country girl now since I have lived here in WV now for the last 28 1/2 years. I still believe that those 7 1/2 years in the city have made me who I am now. I have been married for almost 13 years-met my husband on a blind date set up by my little brother. We have a 12 year old daughter named Kandis-incase U have NOT seen my scrapbook pages. I have to admit she is truly my life. I stay very very busy with her. She is in 6th grade and plays volleyball and cheerleads for her Christian School she goes too. I live for the summer. I love the hot sun, flip flops, french manicure on my toes, shorts, tans, amusement parks, NO school, sleeping in late, and laying out by our pool all day long. I have a major sweet tooth-lol. I would rather have sweets and chocolate then a meal. I could skip dinner and go straight to dessert any day. The next thing I love is to sleep-haha. I don't get very much during school but when school is out me and my daughter make up for it. We will stay up late and sleep in late. I am very close to my family-I actually live next door to my parents and love it. I am very thankful for such great parents. I think I have been scrapbooking faithfully for 7 years, no more than 8. Me and my cousin, Steffany, from Michigan had decided we were gonna start scrapping so we went and bought the essentials (we thought) to get started when she visited once. So we bought our stuff and then we didn’t even scrapbook until a year later. I don’t even remember why? Boys have my scrapbook pages changed over the last 7 years too, wowie!! I look back at the old ones now and laugh my head off but I am not changing them because that shows how much I have improved-hehe. I went from having my stuff in a bag, to a container, to now having almost a whole room of my own. I think I enjoy buying the scrapbooking stuff as much I as enjoy scrapbooking. That in itself is a major addiction!! hehe I scrapbook in spurts, I will go awhile and scrapbook everyday for weeks. Then I will go a couple weeks and sometimes a month and not touch anything in my scrapbook room. I Love to scrapbook with someone way better then by myself, I think that is always a big encourager too. I have some major addictions-jewels, stickles, flowers & pedaloos. I really need to use what I have bought now though before I buy anymore. I used to buy loose paper all the time, but I have only bought the big paper packs for the last couple of years-sooo much cheaper and I seem to use them way more. I love to layer paper, Ink anything, and tear paper. Just a few things I do on every page almost. I used to not journal on my pages but only would make sure the date was on the page. I try to make sure I journal on almost every page now-I think this is what is gonna be important on the scrapbook pages after they are passed down from generation to generation. I think we need to make sure U list who is on the pictures, because 3 generations down the way, they are gonna lose track of who people are and then the scrapbook pages are NOT gonna mean anything to anybody like they do to us or our family now. That is the reason I scrapbook too. I scrapbook to preserve the memories of my family. I want to pass down pictures, places, events and people from my family, to my daughter, to my daughter’s kids and on. What a great thing these books will be to show our history. They don’t seem like so much now but 100 years or more down the road they will... I believe I started scrapbooking when my daughter was in kindergarten. Seems like that is when I remember starting to make books and pages for teachers-heheFavorite products: I love all things Tim Holtz-Ink especially. I love love Glimmer Mist and seem to have to put at least a dot of it on every page I do lately. I love my xyron sticker maker-I have a tiny one and the biggest one they make-I use the small one every time I scrapbook. It makes it so easy when I use my cricket to just run the letters thru it and then just stick them down. My edge distresser-love to make everything look like that-hehe.Favorite technique: Layering lots n lots of paper on one 12X12 page-the more paper the better. Then of course U have to ink it all.Why do you scrapbook: I scrapbook so we have the memories from that day . So we can look back and see and know by the journaling what we were doing and when and where and the date. I scrapbook for my daughter-so one day she can have all of these books for herself-like a journal of her life-a book for each school year-and every Christmas and birthday.. SO she can look back and see and remember all things good. Then I scrapbook the old pictures of her family and grandparents so she can know her family and her history. SO she can also pass these down to her kids and they pass them down-so our history will NOT be forgotten.Favorite color scheme: I love all paper-not really picky-if there is pretty paper-I can probably find a picture to go with it-even green and blue. I do use a lot of yellow and pink and purple…but I love it all...What size do you usually scrap: I used to only scrapbook 2 page 12X12 layouts.. I take a lot of pictures so I like to use a lot of pictures on a page, but since I have been scrapbooking a lot with my friend Wendy over the last year-she has got me doing 1 page layouts.. I like these too-I do miss using so many pictures though. I have never scrapbooked anything other than 12X12 thoughWhat do you love most about scrapping: Besides shopping for the stuff to scrapbook with and my new love for CKC's-lol I love when U get a page all done and u just look at it.. Soooo busy!

So I have been meaning to blog now for awhile and I just havent had any time... SO instead of putting several different blogs with all kinds of pictures from each thing that I have been doing over the last month-I decided to post maybe 1 or 2 from each thing to explain and show-how busy my daughter keeps me-hehe!! I am posting pictures starting with the most recent .. This is a picture taken last night-March 23, 2010 at our County's Reading Festival.. My daughter won 1st place out of her school. SO she got to go and represent her school and get a trophy. It wasnt a contest-just a show kinda-nice-fun-Entertainment.. I was very blessed to have my Daddy & Mom(aka-Grandma and Papaw) come. Then is my WINNER!! lol.. Then my Brother, aka Uncle James, and his fiance' Kim..

Here is a picture of my drama queen in action... She has won the Reading Festival out of her school 3 years in a row.. woot woot-I cant help but brag.. Her k-4 teacher always called her -her little drama queen - so true-lol.

So last Thursday, March 18, Kandis' class and a few other classes traveled to COSI in Columbus Ohio.. So of course I went.. We stayed all night-we slept in the floor in the hall way-thank goodness that parents and teachers were allowed to bring air mattresses-hehe... I didnt get but 45 mins of sleep but it was only becuz' we had 2 snorers in our group-haha.. BIG snorer-yick!! haha If there is ever a next time-I will have my wax ear plugs with me-I so forgot them..

COSI had a high wire you could ride across on a unicycle with NO nets or nothing attached to U to catch U incase U couldnt make it... The weight on the bottom balanced it out.. If U were 250 pounds or under U could ride it.. Of course I had to ride it too-lol.. BUT here is my daughter. She was scared but not scared-she was funny... It was like riding a bike up a hill but backwards when u were going backwards.. so fun and so weird to think how it worked??

SO we were suppose to have our Homecoming at school toward the end of Febuary but we had so much snow it was postponed until March 9. It takes us a awhole week to get all of our homecoming stuff in..My daughter made 6th grade attendant.. She goes to a Christian School that is how come it starts at 6th grade with the attendants(middle school). So above is one of the days they had a pagent at school introducing the attendants and Queen nominees-so the kids could vote for Queen. My baby was so pretty... She is the one that is all little in the front with the sparkle skirt on-hehe... She has HIGH heels on and is still so tiny-ha

Then above is the SPORTS banquet we had at school on March 15.. Kandis' played girls volleyball for JV and occassionally for the high school. This makes her 2nd year and she ROCKS.. She is getting sooooo good.. She is soo little but can bust that ball right over the net.. She got her volleyball award for participation .. Then she got the most improved volleyball player this trophy.. yay!! Then she got a participation award for cheerleading.. She has also cheered for 2 years.. She cheers for both the JV and High School becuz we dont as many girls on both.. I am glad sports are finally over.. We have been playing or practicing sports since August and ready for a big break!!

So this is pictures of Kandis the day of the Homecoming Dance, on March 9th.. I somehow mixed the pictures up here.. She has the cutest lil boyfriend-but I wanted to post this picture my friend, Wendy took of her before we went to the dance.. It is so pretty.. My friend, Belinda Owens, did her hair-took almost 2 hours to curl all that hair.. So glad it wasnt me curling it-haha.. She was soo beautiful!!

So then of course if U have a homecoming dance U have to have a homecoming game and crown a queen right-haha.. So on March 8, we had the homecoming game. Before the game we did all the homecoming activites and Kandis' Daddy walked her out on the court.. What a proud Mommy and Wife I was.. They both looked so good.. I had to get a picture of them looking so good-haha... We WON Our game too-great way to END a season!!

Then finally me and Wendy ran off to Louisville, Ky to the CKC there.. I bought way too much and havent got to scrapbook but a page and half since I have been home and that was Febuary 26 & 27.. BUT it is as much fun going to something like that and buying all the stuff as using it-hehe.. BUT hopefully soon, U all will see scrapbook pages with these pictures on them pluse many more from these days out of the last month...

SO I am off again-just to bed this time-haha... so much to do-so little time-HURRY UP summer!!

My Girl

I havent got to scrapbook much in the last few weeks. Me and my friend Wendy squeezed in a few hours of scrapbooking one evening while my daughter was at her homecoming dance . We dropped her off -went back to Wendy's and scrapbooked for 3 hours then I picked Kandis' up. I told someone that either me and Wendy have too much scrapbook stuff to pick from and just seem over whelmed when we sit down to scrapbook or we have totally lost our mojo. We should of got way more then 1 page done in that much time.. lol This page was so much fun. I love all the layering. When we were done-it was soooo heavy.. It had a total of 6 papers layered. We used a piece of rick rack at the top. There is a tiny rub on in the corner . I used a felt font that was already a sticker for the my in red. I had pink puffy glitter thickers I had just gotten from big lots i used for GIRL. I used some hodge podge with pink glitter braders in different places. We had 2 different size heart punches we used for the hearts. I put some jewels on the hearts. I used a new stick pin I had gotten at CKC in Louisville on one of the hearts. Wendy has a Tim Holtz mini stapler-I used it in a lot of different places on the page. The big tall cute skinny bird with the cute legs is by Mind's Eye. I used this cute GROW bingo card. We had some cute circle things that had the months and years on them. I put a jewel on the month of October. We did our journaling off of the computer and printed it along with the title. We had some cute pearl strands we used to decorate. We punched out some photo turns with a small punch and I put a jewel in the middle of mine. I distressed and ripped my paper some on the 2 layer..

I was joking that anything we could find we stuck on this page-haha.. very pretty-FULL page.. something alittle different then I do usually.. We got the idea out of a OLD scrapbook trends magazine Wendy had. We just totally changed ours up.

In Louisville-CKC tomorrow morning!

Well it took us 10 hours to get to Louisville today when it should of only took about 4 and half hours-haha.. We stopped at 2 Big Lots-a Joann Fabrics-3 privately owned scrapbook stores-(Lasting Legacy-Making Memories-Memories A La Mode)-McDonalds-Sav-a-lot.. haha
Me and Wendy have had a blast all day long. We had a big Dominos pizza when we got to the hotel at 8pm.haha.. We avoided all the snow that we got at our houses in WV.. so doing good.. We are about a quarter of a mile from the Louisville Convention Center where CKC is being held and will be heading there bright and early.. Wendy took this of Me in the parking lot of Joann Fabrics in Lexington KY.. Isnt the sunset just beautiful.

I am not as good of a photographer as Wendy is-but here is her picture that I took.. It was freezing outside by the way..

If we want a picture of us both-then U gotta go to the bathroom and snap a picture in the mirror.. hehe... Me being silly of course... Having a Great Day.. Happy 40th Birthday to Wendy today... Gonna keep celebrating tomorrow..

Going to CKC in Louisville today-woot woot!!

I am heading off to Louisville Kentucky tomorrow for the CKC.. We are in a huge snow storm again here in WV-hoping to run out of tomorrow afternoon before we get buried under it too bad. They are calling for 8-14 inches here-shew!!! I can NOT wait for spring... It is not suppose to be snowing like this in Lexington and Louisville so me and my friend Wendy are taking off as soon as possible tomorrow. I can't wait.. We went last year. We had a blast-we stayed all day at the convention and would scrapbook in our room at night.. Here are a few pictures from my trip to Louisville last year.. Me with a few of the best scrapbooking albums ever!!! Hoping they have more-they were only $5.. heheI am buying stickles I think for the 1st time at Techique Tuesday. One of my favorite things now. This place has some awesome chipboard stuff too. Wendy buying some awesome chipboard stuff at Technique Tuesday..

Her is a picture of me in the hotel with some of the many things I bought while we were gone.. I didnt get them all at th convention of course. We hit every Big Lots between our houses and Louisville and all kinds of scrapbooking stores in Louisville too.. 2 New Pages

I have did these 2 pages over the last week-just now getting a chance to post them.. The 1st one is of my daughter in 1998. She was only about 6 months old-she is now 12. Looking at that picture brings back all the memories of that day to me.. boo hoo!! I miss them.. Me and my friend Wendy worked on this page together at her house real fast one day-then I finished it at home.. I stitched around all the paper with a sowing maching.. I hand made the flowers.. The brown flowers were cut out of punches-then I wet the paper-ran it thru my cuttlebug-then i ink it-then scrunhced it all up in a wad and then unwaded it and let it dry-and it dryed so cool.. then just layered them with more flower punched flowers. I used yellow rhinestones in the middle of them. I cut out all the words with my cricut.. The word Angel was cut out with my graphically speaking cartridge which is turning out to be my favorite cartridge ... Then I used some different alpha cartridges on the others.

I made this page with my cousin Stephanie in Michigan a year ago I think. We had got the paper at a locally owned scrapbook store and then came home and made the page right up. I had everything done on the page except a title and pictures.. It is sooo hard to do a pre-made page without pictures-then fit pictures in-shewie!! I struggled here.. That is how come it took me so long to use the page.. I love it though. I am all about layering paper. Then inking it all up.. We cut the cute little penquins out of some of the paper. I cut the "together" out of my graphically speaking cartridge again..I think we cut the snowflakes out of one of the cartridges we had for the cricut.. I had to add lots of stickles of course..IT wouldnt be a page without it.. hehe These are pictures of me-my hubby, Roger-my daughter, Kandis-and my step-son, Clayton. One of the pictures is from Christmas Eve 2006 and the other is from this past Christmas Eve 2009.

I love these 3 sooo much!!!!

My A La Carte Prize

Here is the awesome prize I got in the mail about a week ago from Alpha @ A La Carte.. I won this for doing a scrapbook page in their November challenge.. I cant wait to make me some fall pages with all of this.. All of the paper is from Bo Bunny... It is all double sided too. I got 9 sheets of double sided paper and then the one shaped paper.. I got the alpha stickers. Then sticky brown leaf ribbon. I got some orange rick rack. Then finally I got some amazing flowers.

Here is a better pictures of the flowers.. they are very very delicate like.. One of them even broke in the bag when I was pulling it out.. They are all 3-D too. They are gonna pop right off the page.Here is a copy a picture of the sticky leaf ribbon and rick rack. It matches all of this PERFECT. Then here is a view of the flowers from the side-showing u how dimentional they are... Just a awesome Prize...

More snow makes for good Scrappin

So snow seems to be the word we keep hearing here. We watch the weather constantly just to see if maybe we will miss the next "BIG ONE". lol We usually have mild winters-a couple inches here and a couple there.. BUT with this snow we have gotten the last few nights it makes our total for the winter up to like 4 foot. More like the weather my family is used to in Michigan all winter long and not us. They have got about a total of 1 foot maybe.. BUT on a good note I seem to be getting a lot of scrapbooking done on this late nights of snow, knowing we are having NO SCHOOL the next morning.. So far 2 days this week with NO school and last week 2 or 3 snow days. I am thinking with the way it is going we are gonna be going to school on the 4th of July. haha.
So me and my friend Wendy http://www.wendybaisden.blogspot.com/ did get in a hour of speed scrappin on Monday. We hurried as fast as we could do this 1st page. We got our idea off of the cover of a scrapbook trends magazine that Wendy had just got. Ours looks quit different-i love it. This is my daughter and her Best friend and Boyfriend(yikes)-ice skating in January 2010. I didnt put my picture down until I had gotten home but had already did my sowing on mine so that is why the picture is not under the sowing.. I stickled my thicker letters.. and the little orange dotted circle in the middle. I cut my 2010 out on my cricut. I journaled on my computer.. This next page I had actually scrapbooked 2 years ago in Michigan with my cousin Stephanie.. I could never find the right pictures to put in it, until now. These are pictures from my daughters Christmas play at school called, Christmas Hang Ups. She was a hula girl and her and her friends were ornaments.. I sticked just about anything i could find on the sheet too.. haha.. We had cut out the trees from some paper-so i stickled those.. I love all the layering on this page.. I am glad I had waited on the pictures cuz these worked perfect on here!!

This final page I had also done in Michigan a couple years ago around New Years with my cousins Stephanie and Amy. I had always strugged with how little the circles were and what I could fit in them. BUT I had printed sooo many pictures off form Christmas this year at my husband's family that they worked perfect in this.. This is this Christmas Eve 2009. I used green glitter thickers on the Messer Holiday. The joy was cut out of the cricut and I stickled it with my diamond stickles. Then we used the eraser on a pencil to make the round white circles around the edges-we dipped them in white ink.. Then I stickled them with the diamond stickles.. Happy to have a couple new Christmas pages!!! I got tons more pages that are done just need pictures. I just got to get going on them.. hehe

Class Valentines Party

I spent my Friday hanging out with my Daughter and her class from school at her teacher's house for a Valentines Party.. We were on a 2 hr delay for school because of more snow. Kandis' teacher had invited her class 5th/6th graders plus 3rd/4th & 7th graders. The kids had a blast. Food & games & prizes galore.. This is Kandis' teacher's daughter, Paige & Kandis. She graduated last year from RCS. Kandis got to cheer with her last year. Kandis' kinda looks like Paige's mini me. Kandis spent the majority of the day stuck to her.. It was cute. We miss seeing Paige everyday!!

All the yummy desserts we had to munch on. We had pizza and chicken nuggets with chips and some sausage and cheese dip with tortillas for lunch. Then U name it we about had it for dessert: we had so many cupcakes I think we could of all had a couple each, fudge, brownies, cake, cookies & chocolate covered pretzels and more.. It was a great time.. Kandis being in 6th grade this year I know there will not be many more of these parties.. So just trying to enjoy them while they last.. SO now I just need to order me some new pictures now to scrapbook a couple new valentine pages.. lol

Mr Gallon Man

Kandis had a Project for school this week. She had to make a Mr Gallon Man. I had no idea what this meant but she insisted she knew exactly what to do and how to make him.. She said she was gonna go in my scrapbook room and she would make him in there.. I always feel a little bad becuz' I always feel like a lot of people might think I help her with her school projects a lot.. Well a Social Studies Project, I gotta help with. BUT she made this and came out to show me and I was like oh my gees.. Is he suppose to be life size.. She said yeah as long as everything was the exact same lenth-each arm-then each smaller arm-then each finger.. She still had to explain what he was to me.. Of course it made more sense when she expaines how the cups equaled pints then so many pints equaled quarts then so many quarts equal a gallon.. I am sooo bad at measurements.. Kandis is great, just like her Daddy. I think I missed the whole week or month we went over that part at school when I was younger.. I was proud of the job she did, all by herself. Then of course, it was the biggest Gallon Man there! haha Kandis said well if you are gonna do something you might as well go BIG........ gotta love it... I hope she always continues to think this way... This will forsure be a future scrapbook page... OF COURSE!!!!

I did another page the other night.. I dont know why I can be home doing nothing all day but then at 11pm start scrapbooking.. I guess I am just a night owl scrapbooker when I am scrapbooking alone. This is me and my husband back in August 2009. My sister in law, Kimberly, took this.. She owns a portrait studio, www.epportraits.com . She does a awesome job. I used my techinique tuesday hearts on this page.. I just covered them in paper. I printed the LOVEYOU off of my cricut.. I just threaded my buttons and put snot dots behind them. I used my label maker for my journaling.. It says- I could Kiss you for eternity-glad U are mine forever... I love this page.. Simple but pretty.. All this paper is from one paper pack but I shared it with one of my friends and we didnt write down what pack it was for me.. soooo... and of course I ink everything with my Tim Holtz distressing ink.. I love to do that ...

My Baby Girl

Today is my Birthday-woot woot!! lol.. I stayed up late last night and did a scrapbook page.. I cleaned all day yesterday so I wouldnt have to do anything today-but wanted to scrapbook all day soo bad. SO I didnt start until 10pm and didnt finish until 1pm-but I stopped for a bath and stuff inbetween. So I made this on my birthday too. I am such a slow scrapbooker it yurks me sometimes-shew!! I dont know why either but oh well.. Maybe not so bad if I am scrappin with someone but if I am alone-geesh!!!

So this is Me on December 19, 1997 the day my daughter was born. This is the 1st time I got to hold Kandis hours and hours after my c-section.. I had her at 1:35am I think and it was 7am before I got to hold her. I looked alittle loopy here if U cant tell -haha.. I made the flowers my self with some punches I have-and added the jewels. I used some pretty paper out of a DCWV Spring Glitter pack-I just used the sides that didn't have the glitter so i could use all yellows. I used some black stickles on it. I freehanded my stickle dots-so they are alittle wild-1st time I had did that-I like it but I need to learn to space more and learn to get the same amount of stickle out on each dot. I wanted to use a cream big flower instead of the purple flower but I didnt have one and other then the purple-nothing else really looked right and I didnt want a yellow flower there.. So this is what I used-not sure about it still-might see if I can bum a cream flower from my FLOWER friend-hehe.. I need lots and lots more BIG flowers-and yellow flowers. Besides petaloos I dont own ANY yellow big or small flowers-its funny.. I love my journaling around the circle.. .. I hope to do another page or so today?? Never know.. Hope U like it?

So I put up a sidebar on my blog showing a picture of giveaway. Then I was picked as the winner. I got my prize just a few days later. It is beautiful paper-all flocked or glittered paper-2 sheets of each. I am so happy. So thankful for the stuff Sarah GAVE to me. One more Scrapbook Challenge

I decided to add another page to one of the January Challenges before the month ends. I probably won't have this many pages next month-but I can always shoot for it. This Challenge was to MIX IT UP. The design team member, Sarah, who added this challenge wants U to use paper that U would think would be more boyish or girly and then turn it around and use it for the opposite sex. U are suppose to add things to it to make it more girly if U used the boy paper-or more boyish if U used girl paper with flowers or pink or purple stuff. I do use a lot of pinks/purples/reds BUT I also love browns and darker colors. They are not always for boys but this paper could easily be used for a boy without question. I just made it girly but using some pink letters and a flower and ribbon. I used some sparkly brads and a brad with a rhinestone. I thought it turned it around for me.. This is a page of me and my daughter last spring.. Oh how I wish it was Spring already.. We are suppose to be getting ANOTHER winter storm here starting Friday- half foot to a foot.. I guess that will just make us appreciate Spring and Summer even more this year!!

Scrapbooking Challenge Pages

So I am trying to do some pages for some of the challenges on Scrapbooking Challenges.. I know I can not do them all, even though I would love too. I just kinda pick and choose which interest me or I think I will have time for. Here are the pages that I have entered for some of the January challenges

These 2 pages above were done for a challenge-Copy another member's page.. This was super easy challenge.. I like to scraplift.. I went to my friend Wendy's photos and found a couple pages she had done that I had been wanting to copy since she had done them and copied those. The 1st one is my daughter Kandis during one of our big snows this winter.. Then the 2nd one is of my Husband and my step son, Clayton. I just love that photo..

These pages above I turned in for the Use your Stash Flower Challenge. They wanted U to use as many flowers-at least 10-that u could on a page. They were wanting U to use your old stash of flowers that U really dont use that much anymore-those old jar filled tiny tiny flowers-prima flowers. I think that is the name of those. I dont have very many at all. This page was posted for a challenged named Paper Piecing. It could be done in so many ways. U could make something out of the paper or piece paper together like I did here. As long as U used different pieces of paper on your page. Me and Wendy had done this page not long ago so I just submitted this one for this challenge..I had taken these pictures of Kandis with my new Nikon I got in October!!

This page was for a challenge named Home Sweet Home . U were suppose to use pictures from your home-anything as long as it is from your house-inside or out-it really doesnt matter. U have to have a title and the word HOME has to be in it.. This is OUR HOME when we moved in and we 1st got our new home in 1997 and I had a current good picture of the outside from 2003 which is also what it looks like now.. I love this page!! IT is such a great page to pass down to my daughter one day. The top picture is a little blurry-it is alittle old.. Me and my husband are the little blurs-I am the little plumpy pregnant one standing in the doorway! haha

This Page above is for a NO Pattern Paper Challenge.. Not something that I do much. SO I had used some chipboard for my arrow and some stickles to decorate with. This is Kandis and her Heelys. These have come and gone for us!! lol

This page was done for a challenge called Notions Department Challenge. U can use fabric, ribbon, ric rak, buttons, thread, snaps, elastic. U can use as little or as much as U want.. SO I just went nut with ribbon on this page.. It's me on a trip to Louisville to Charlotte CKC. I have some of the scrapbooking supplies i had bought surrounding me-LOL!

Great Deals @ Michaels

I have to admit right off I have a little addiction to scrapbooking paper. I used to not be very bad but I will admit now I have it pretty bad. I just to buy paper mostly by the single sheets, but not anymore. Unless I see something I gotta have in a single piece of paper or something I just have a idea for I am all about paper packs now. U get tons of papers in a huge pack-some way or another it all cordinates into each other and it is awesome. The majority of them are about $20 a pack but I will NEVER pay that for a pack. If it is NOT onsale for half off or I don't have a coupon, I wait.. Well I hit the jackpot at Michael's Craft store last weekend. One of my friends had called another friend and told her about some paper at the store that was marked clearanced for $9.99 but when U get up front it rings up for $4 a pack. Well usually that doesn't mean anything to me because we live a hour and half from Michaels BUT last Saturday I just happen to be where Michael's was and guess what?? I got like 7 new big paper packs all for $4 each.. I was sooooo happy. That is like $140 worth of paper at regular price. woot woot!!

Then I decided to look over in the Christmas clearance stuff. I didnt see anything right off that was scrapbooking really. Then i seen a 20 cent rack with tons of little stuff in it and started digging thru it. I pulled out a pack of jewels, there were 48 in a pack, and then I was like ooooooh! The 2nd thing I am probably the most addicted to in scrappin is jewels. The cheapest I have probably ever gotten them is $1 at a CKC convention or $1 maybe at Michaels off the cheapo rack. BUT I dont get them that often. SO when I go to the conventions I stock up. My Mom came over and started digging with me to help and before I knew it I had like 18 packs of jewels. I got a lot of green/gold packs but hey for 20 cents I didn't care. That just means I can add tons more to a page at once!! LOL Then they had a lot of the Christmas words spelled out with the jewels for 20 cents. My mom would say U already got this one right, I said I don't care I want them all for that price!! haha. I had so much fun . So if U have a Michael's close by and haven't checked out the 20 cent rack yet, it might be worth a trip to look. Then if U see some paper packs in them middle aisle with some clearance stickers on them, maybe let someone scan them for U... U might get a few $4 packs of paper like I did!! Happy scrapbook shopping!

I Won Nov Challenge @ A La Carte

Ok my friend Wendy talked me into my 1st challenge and I submitted my page @ A La Carte Blog for their November Challenge and went flipping thru some of my favorite blogs today and seen MY page at the TOP as the Winner!!!!!!!!! I was just a tad excited and my daughter was almost as excited as me, as I was bouncing around in my desk chair like a nut!! I was so nervous-I thought my page had to be perfect but naaaaa! I think that has to be one of the most nerve racking pages I have ever done. I think I put a lot of pressure on myself becuz' it was a contest. I had to remind myself that it was just a scrapbook page-something that I loved to do-and something I did all the time. Just go with your gut! Have fun mostly and who knows U might win-like ME!! hehe- Now I can't wait to see what I won-haha!! Really though-Just winning was a big deal to me! YIPPPEEE!!!

All I had to do was use at least 3 of the following-I used all 5
1. Use orange and brown. - that one is obvious of course

2. Use woodgrain. - I used that one on the tree(which I found on my cricut cartridge-Graphically Speaking)

3. Use fabric. - I put fabric behind my little flower i made in the corner-it is white and it is just outlining the smaller flower a little

4. Use something with wings. - obvious again-my little birdies

5. Use a toilet paper roll. - my birdies are made with it and then i used the cuttlebug to emboss them and then I glimmer misted them like crazy.

6. Use song lyrics in your title. - Making Memories of Us-I can't remember the artist on this? Oops-but I promise it is! lol

SO now I am gonna be addicted and have to for sure find my next challenge to do very soon! hehe

Featured Page on Scrapbook Challenges

I got very excited yesterday when I got a email from Scrapbook Challenges telling me that one of my scrapbooking pages I had uploaded this week was picked as one of their featured pages. I just recently joined this group and LOVE it.. There are tons of great ladies to chat with on here and lots of fun challenges with prizes. There is a gallery full of great scrapbooking pages done by ladies just like U and Me! As U upload your pages they go into a big gallery and then that week they have a panel of ladies that pick their favorite for that week. So this has made 2 out of the last 3 weeks mine has been picked. So I am really excited now. It really encourages U to scrapbook when U get so many compliments on your pages-and these ladies on here compliment U a lot.. I know everyone loves encouragement-I dont care who U are-we all need it.. SO I just had to toot my little horn alittle.. I didnt win anything but I did win alittle more encouragement for myself. I will take that anyday. I am gonna have to try some of the challenges out. I haven't done any yet because U know-prizes are GREAT too-LOL!
